Financial Support
The Delores Project relies on a caring community of supporters to provide shelter for women experiencing homelessness. The Delores Project is primarily privately funded, receiving only 20% of funding from government sources. Individual donors, private foundations and corporations provide the largest part of our funding. Make an online donation to The Delores Project through our secure site.

Make a monthly pledge to The Delores Project. Your regular monthly support helps ensure we have resources throughout the year to support the women we serve. Please email Liesl Thomas, Development Director, to set up a regular monthly donation by automatic withdrawal from your bank account or by credit card.
Your donation of $250 or more may be eligible for the Denver Enterprise Zone tax credit. The DEZ tax credit allows you to take a dollar-for-dollar tax credit from your Colorado state income tax liability for 25% the amount of your cash gift. In-Kind Donations
In-kind donations of supplies and services are critical to the operation of The Delores Project. The Delores Project saves almost $90,000 each year because of donations of supplies such as toilet paper, trash bags, toiletries, cleaning supplies, paper goods and meals. Without these donations The Delores Project would have to raise additional funds or cut services to provide women with the basics. Volunteers
The Delores Project relies on thousands of volunteers who support us with their donation of time and expertise. Ninety percent of the evening meals served at The Delores Project (approximately 31,000 meals) are provided by volunteers each year. These donations of meals in combination with in-kind donations of house supplies, saves us almost $90,000 each year. Below are several volunteer opportunities regularly available at The Delores Project.
- Meal provider (cooks meal either off-site or at The Delores Project for 50 – 65 people)
- Meal server (helps serve meals that are brought in by other groups).
- Landscaping/garden volunteer (helps with outdoor maintenance of The Delores Project)
- Errand Runner (picks up donations, delivers laundry, etc.)
